About WhichAI

WhichAI is an independently maintained tool that helps individuals compare AI subscriptions and find the right combination for their workflow and budget — without the guesswork.

As AI tools have proliferated, most people end up paying for multiple subscriptions that overlap significantly. WhichAI analyzes your actual use cases and usage intensity to recommend the optimal setup — whether that's one tool or several.

Who runs this

WhichAI is maintained by an individual researcher. It is a personal project — not a company, not a startup, and not backed by any AI provider. There is no team, no funding, and no commercial agenda beyond covering hosting costs.

Editorial principles

• We do not accept payments, sponsorships, or affiliate commissions from any AI provider.
• All pricing data is collected from publicly available official sources.
• AI tools are used to assist in data collection and drafting, but final price and factual claims are reviewed manually.

How we keep data current

Pricing data is reviewed from official provider pricing pages and updated regularly. Each service entry includes a last-verified date. A monthly automated check flags changes across all tracked services, and major pricing announcements are updated manually as soon as possible.

That said, AI pricing changes frequently — sometimes weekly. There will be moments when our data is slightly out of date. If you notice an error, please let us know.

What “Verified” means on WhichAI

A “verified” badge means all seven of the following criteria were met at the time of review. Anything less gets a conditional label explaining what is still unconfirmed.

1. Official page exists — a live, publicly accessible pricing or plans page from the provider.
2. Price is stated — an explicit dollar (or local-currency) figure is published on that page.
3. Country is confirmed — the region the price applies to is verified (e.g. US, KR).
4. Eligibility is confirmed — any student, institutional, or promotional requirements are documented.
5. Period is confirmed — whether the price is monthly, annual, or a limited-time promotion is clear.
6. Renewal price is confirmed — the post-promotion or standard renewal rate is stated.
7. Verified date and source link are published — the verification timestamp and the official source URL are displayed on the service page.

What you should verify yourself

Always check the following directly on each provider's official website before subscribing:

• Current pricing — prices change without notice. Our listed price may not reflect the latest change.
• Usage limits — providers rarely publish fixed message counts. Limits vary by server load, model, plan tier, and account. Any per-day or per-hour limits described in our content are approximate and based on community reports, not official guarantees.
• Student and promotional discounts — offers change regionally and may be limited to specific institutions. Verify eligibility on the provider's official student or promotion page before relying on a discount.
• Model availability — which models are served on each plan tier changes frequently. Check the provider's current model documentation.

Error correction policy

We treat errors seriously and correct them transparently:

• If you find an error, contact us with the specific page, the incorrect data, and an official source URL showing the correct information.
• We correct verified errors within 24 hours and add a public correction notice to the affected page.
• Corrections are listed publicly — we don't silently change numbers.

How we collect and verify data

All pricing, plan, and model data is collected manually from publicly available official sources. We do not scrape or automate price collection — every data point is reviewed by a human against the provider's current official pricing page.

• Source grades: We classify every source as A (official pricing page), B (official blog/social), C (direct observation of payment screen), or D (community report). Grade A is required for pricing data.
• Verification criteria: A “verified” badge means 7 conditions are met: official page exists, price is stated, region is confirmed, eligibility is clear, period is confirmed, renewal price is stated, and verification date plus source link are published.
• Recommendations: The AI Optimizer and comparison pages recommend services based on publicly available feature and pricing data — not on affiliate commissions or partnerships. We have no commercial relationships with any AI provider.
• AI use disclosure: AI tools assist in data collection formatting and content drafting. All final pricing data and factual claims are reviewed manually before publication.

How we rank and recommend

Comparison pages and the AI Optimizer use feature-based matching — not subjective quality claims. Here is how it works:

• Feature matching: Each service is tagged with supported use cases (writing, coding, image generation, etc.). Recommendations match your selected use cases against available service features.
• Price comparison: Within the matching services, the optimizer finds the lowest-cost combination that covers all your use cases.
• No subjective “Best” rankings: We do not claim one tool is objectively “best” for a task. Instead, we use language like “Editor’s choice,” “Strongest for,” or “Most selected by users” to distinguish fact-based suitability from personal preference.
• When we do compare quality: Any comparative evaluation (e.g. coding benchmarks, writing quality comparisons) will include the exact model versions tested, prompts used, evaluation criteria, and raw outputs so you can reproduce and judge for yourself.
• Data trust affects recommendations: Services with unverified or stale pricing data are excluded from the optimizer until re-verified.

Data freshness

• Pricing data is reviewed on a rolling basis. The site footer shows when the full dataset was last comprehensively reviewed.
• Individual service pages show their own last-verified dates so you know exactly how current each entry is.
• Blog articles older than 14 days display a freshness warning at the top of the page.
